Lace – Can’t Play Around

Released in 1982 on Atlantic/RFC Records, Lace’s Can’t Play Around is an iconic track from the disco-funk scene. This track remains an essential reference for disco-funk and house music fans, perfectly illustrating the energy and creativity of the era. Produced by Joe Bana and Ron Tyson, the track is distinguished by its irresistible groove and sophisticated arrangements. It was popularized by legendary DJ Larry Levan, who played it frequently at the Paradise Garage, helping to make it a dance music classic. The track was also included in the compilation Journey into Paradise: The Larry Levan Story, testifying to its importance in the history of club music. Lace was a One-off collaboration from the 80s,  between J. Bana, R. Tyson and the legendary DJ Producer Larry Levan.
