So This Is the Dining Room is an EP by Detroit-based New Zealand producer Recloose, released in 1998. This opus explores an innovative fusion of sampled percussion, dub bass lines and broken beat rhythms, reflecting influences from Detroit and the electronic scene of the time. Spring 97, Matt Chicoine (aka Recloose) made a contact with techno pioneer Carl Craig by the way of a now legendary ‘demo on rye sandwich’. Matthew Chicoine was working for a sandwich store in Detroit, the story tells he slipped a demo tape in, with Carl Craig’s meal, and so be it !
