Few words about the record

Profan is an electronic music label founded by Wolfgang Voigt in the 1993. This label is known for its contribution to the techno and minimalist scene, with a particular focus on sonic experimentation and high-quality production. Profan regards itself not as a techno label in the traditional sense. This label follows more the meandering side-paths of Techno. The crackling besides. The grooving in the groove. Profan is complex and theoretical. Tough and light. It is pop, not intelligent Techno. Bee Gees, not Documenta. It was distributed via Piktomania. Profan has played an important role in the evolution of electronic music, with an emphasis on sound quality and creativity. Profan’s releases are often praised for their originality and their ability to push the boundaries of musical genres. The label also helped establish Wolfgang Voigt as an influential figure in contemporary electronic music.
