Under the alias 69, Detroit producer Carl Craig’s Pungtang is an emblematic piece of experimental techno. Originally released in 2006 on Planet E Communications this track also features on the compilation The Legendary Adventures of a Filter King, reissued in 2011

Born in 1969 in Detroit, Carl Craig started as a key player following Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson, and Juan Atkins. He began recording at the turn of the 1990’s, with many aliases to release innovative ambient, techno, breakbeat and future jazz sounds, then his discography is amazing.

Words about This Record…

Another killer piece in the collection, with this Carl Craig’s piece on his Classics division, with his legendary talent and re-issues. Desire, one of my favorite work from Carl Craig, is a great long synth lamentation which was released by on Planet E and R&S with 69 – Lite Music. « Sub Seducer » was originally released on Planet E (PE 69170) in 1993, and licensed to R&S in 1994 with 69 – Sound On Sound, but appears here under an unreleased version.
