Few words about the record

Flora and Airto have shown quite conclusively over decades of working together in fine creative symbiosis, that it is possible to project, communicate and manifest excitement without detracting in the slightest from the integrity of the music. This unique husband and wife team conspicuously enjoy their music – and this is a potent factor in their appeal to audiences around the world. They are poets, painters and actors with music. What they bring to their audiences are the colours, the contrasts, the complexities and the comedies of life. The Colours of Life is a diverse collection recorded through various sessions in the 1980s. The eight tracks on this album testify to the wide range of idiom and mood embraced by this great Brazilian duo.
