The Miami Vice soundtrack combines pop hits and synthetic strings, perfectly embodying the flashy, dramatic aesthetic of the cult series

Miami Vice TV film, with Don JohnsonPhilip Michael Thomas, was a successful series in the 80’s, and then the music, because the tv production team understood audience will be higher if they put famous pop music of that time in it. They were right… I mean, It worked very well. Released in 1985, Miami Vice: Music From the Television Series captures the sonic essence of the cult ’80s series, blending Jan Hammer’s electronic compositions with iconic pop-rock hits for a total immersion in the stylized world of Miami Vice. Don Johnson wanted to leave the project, then he got much more money to do it, also he did not really like the actor who was playing his boss (chief cop) amazing how when they are together in the scene they never cross their eyes… By the way, check the Don Johnson big band !!
